Dark Version Of Play Store is Now Available

After a Long Time You Can See The Dark Version of Google Play Store on Android 10

It's been a very long time of coming Android 10, and now The Google is finally ready to release a dark mode for the Google Play Store.

Google revealed lots of details about Android 10, including that it has a system-wide dark mode that not only darkes the user interface of system apps but also turn the third-party app into dark mode by turning on in setting. Google said they planned to update all of their major apps with dark themes by the time Android 10 releases, but it’s been over a week since the stable Android 10 release for the Pixel smartphones and two major Google apps have yet to widely roll out dark themes: Gmail and the Play Store. Few days ago dark mode is seen on the Gmail app for Android on some users and now, The Google Play Store is also running in fully functional dark mode as well.

Mishaal Rahman, editor-in-chief of XDA Developers, spotted the Play Store’s version (16.6.25) dark mode on his Pixel 2 XL running on Android 10. He had the system-wide dark mode enabled in Display settings, but he did not have the override force dark Developer Option enabled nor do he had any third-party themes installed. he was able to see a dark theme take over the Google Play Store’s UI. You can check out some images of the Google Play Store dark mode below.

Here are screenshots showing off the new Google Play Store dark theme. Once the Google Play Store widely rolls out the dark theme, we’ll let you all know. Google recently rolled out a Material Theme redesign for the Play Store in preparation for this dark mode, but the company pulled back and rolled out that redesign so many times that there’s no telling when they’ll make the dark theme available for all.

Why go dark?

The dark theme made easy for eyes to use mobile phones. It’s also increase the battery life on phones that use OLED displays because it allows the device to turn off or dim individual pixels on the screen. For instance, Google says that YouTube running in dark mode at 100% brightness can save up to 60% more battery compared to normal mode. With Android 10’s system-wide dark mode, not only the Google’s own apps cross over to the dark mode, but other third-party apps also have that feature to go on the dark mode. Some famous third-party apps that have the dark mode are Pocket, Amazon Kindle, and Gboard. As reported by XDA, Google Play Store’s dark mode is available for version 16.6.25 of the app on Android 10. The dark mode is now only for some users only for the feedback. If the dark theme is available to some users, it’s probably going to become available more widely soon.
